If life is a painting, I started with a blank canvas on August 15, 1979. August 15th also happens to be the date when India started its own painting in 1947 when it got free from British Rule. But that’s a different story.
My early days were spent in Chandrapur, Maharashtra a small coal mining town in Central India. I schooled till my 10th grade in Jawahar Novoday Vidyalay, a school run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. After completing high school I went to study Computer Engineering at Nagpur University.
Halfway through the course, I realized I enjoyed Computer Graphics, Animation and Visual Communication more than math and core programming. But however basic, my engineering skills gave me a sound footing in understanding complex 3D animation software and scripting and other technicalities in Computer Design.
While I was studying Engineering, I was involved in a lot of design ventures with the main ones being Pixelmunge and Exceed Consulting with my friend and mentor Amol Hatwar.
Soon, love came calling and I got married to the woman I love: Anamika. After marriage, it was the city of Bombay (now Mumbai) that did the calling and I fell in love with it. After a couple of positions in design firms I decided to independently start out on my own.
Since then, I've completed numerous design projects in print, web and animation for clients from Australia, US, UK, India and other parts of the globe. In almost all of my projects I've played with the perceptions of the audience rather successfully.
